The Mysteries of the Father - Jon Eden Khan

“Many legends exist throughout the world of the dismembered god - a being torn apart and scattered throughout existence. The resurrection of Osiris is the reawakening of this One Life at the core of all lives. The sacrifice of this central Life - the willingness to die to a coherent sense of Self in order to bestow that Self in all of the parts is tremendous and truly humbling when realised. The trust in Life itself over scales of time and space that are incomprehensible to us is truly awe-inspiring. That trust and that sacrifice underlies the capacity for those parts to re-member themselves and restore the One Self.” (Mercury Transmissions 2020, Bruce Lyon)

Since the counterculture revolution of the 60’s, more and more human beings been opening to commune with the Mother.

With the Great Goddess who lives through the body of the Earth.

With Her profound intelligence and abundance as she lives through nature and ecosystems.

With Her wisdom and grace as she lives in our bodies.

The prevailing paradigm still is unconscious of Her, doesn’t recognise Her, and is fundamentally violent towards Her.

And yet through embodiment practices, yoga, conscious dance, the rise of shamanic spirituality, medicine ceremonies, and other pathways, more and more human beings have come to know Her.

Much less well known is the Father.

And I don’t mean a white bearded man in the sky who describes himself in the Bible as “a jealous God”.

The true mysteries of the Father went deep underground a few thousand years ago.

They disappeared at the time the Greek mysteries taught about Chronus scything off the balls of Ouranus.

When the Egyptian mysteries taught about the dismemberment of Osiris, and the Greeks of Dionysus.

Or in Vedic culture when the lingam, or phallus, of Shiva started to become a source of shame.

Ouranus – the original father of the Greeks – was replaced by Chronus.

In the Egyptian myths the king Osiris was replaced by Set.

The original Father – the one fully anchored in the indestructibility of transcendental life in their core – was replaced by another masculine force anchored in mind, separation, strategy and duality.

3000 years of patriarchal culture came next.

Today, the mysteries of the Father will be controversial for many.

We are just so deeply imprinted with examples of the masculine force that is disconnected from the true source of its power and abuses the power that remains that it is difficult for us to imagine anything else.

And yet...

The mysteries of the Father are the mysteries of our indestructible essence, just as the mysteries of the Mother are those of sacred matter.

The mysteries of the Father are transcendental and profoundly embodied.

Osiris’s body is torn to pieces and distributed throughout the kingdom for those who mourn him to put back together and re-member the One at the core of all cores.

In ancient Greece, the mystery cult of Dionysus held a ritual every 2 years where a bull, who represented the indestructible Life of the Father, was torn apart and eaten alive, with every part of its body consumed save the phallus.

The mysteries of the Father relate to that depth of primordial Life that is so fundamentally free and anchored in its true nature, that it is willing to fully descend into incarnation in deepest matter and be torn apart in the process, knowing its essence can never be harmed.

The mysteries of the Father relate to the death of the One to its original state through its sacrifice into matter, which allows it to become the source of Life in the realm of those unawakened to its presence in their core.

Osiris after his dismemberment becomes King of the Dead.

The mysteries of the Father relate to the piece of the One Dark Presence of Life that vibrates as eternal freedom and power in the core of every heart and soul, waiting to be re-membered as a ray of that One.

The mysteries of the Father relate to a frequency of Life so utterly rested in its own nature that it was willing to be forgotten for aeons by its children, trusting that in time they would re-member their source.

On the planet, while the mysteries of the Mother relate to the Goddess that lives through the body of our magnificent living planet, the mysteries of the Father relate to the divine Presence and Life that lives at the core of the Earth.

This is the true throne of Osiris, who rules from the underworld.

This is the true home of Hades, Pluto, or Sanat Kumara.

The loss of these mysteries around 3000 years ago resulted in the emergence of a patriarchal civilisation disconnected from the power of its true essence and right relationship with the Mother.

On one level this has had tragic consequences.

Today we are the most medicated societies in history, dominating and exploiting the earth while absorbed in narcissistic technological obsession, and fundamentally disconnected from each other, all on the top of millennia of unacknowledged collective trauma that's running the show from behind the scenes.

On another level, it could be seen that human consciousness was not yet ready to channel the power of the Father principle and needed time to prepare to receive it.

The Father mysteries always culminated in resurrection - the resurrection of the primordial life principle in the core of a being and the activation of its full power.

In the ancient mystery schools this was associated with the unleashing of wild energy in the initiate, at once deeply spiritual and er0tic.

The s*xual power of Dionysus.

Osiris as the inseminating power of Life in everything, from the Nile to the crops to the s*xual power of the pharaoh.

The lingam or phallus of Shiva.

In this light it is understandable that perhaps humanity has needed a few thousand years of evolution before it could begin to be ready for such power.

Today, our planet is moving into an initiatory period that I believe will bring us and our adolescent culture of materialism to its knees.

I also sense that part of the awakening will be to the unfathomable intelligence, beauty and abundance that lives through the body of the Mother, in our bodies and the Earth.

And that what cannot be seen yet but that is coming just as much is the rise of the Presence of the Father in the core of every soul.

Rising as divine darkness, transcendental Life and embodied Presence in the heart of its children.

My experience is that we – Humanity – are that child, ready to come into adulthood as a bridge between these two primordial forces of Life.

And that when we find ourselves there, the culture of mind that has fuelled so much evolution over the last millennia, yet from a place that is disconnected from its source and violent to its own body, will be over.
